The Transportation Program offers guidelines for area management to use to set the standard of training for its patrollers who operate toboggans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video style=\"width:400px\" controls src=\"http:\/\/hyakskipatrol.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Shorter-OET-Senior-720.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Alpine or &#8220;Hill&#8221; Patrol are required to be proficient in toboggan skills on all runs in our ski area, including our most challenging sections like East Peak Chair line, and Eclipse on the Hidden Valley side of the hill. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We teach new candidates these skills over the course of 4-6 weekends, both days, during the Winter and Spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All patrollers also participate in Yearly refreshers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hyak, like the other patrols at Snoqualmie Pass teach a standardized curriculum for Outdoor Emergency Transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below are the basic techniques we use at Hyak and the rest of the Snoqualmie Pass area when teaching toboggan handling:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Alpental Toboggan Introduction\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eAvOam4ED0g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
